Meet Sean
Born and raised in Albuquerque, New Mexico, Sean Sheehan returned home in 2005 with a bold goal: to build a winery dedicated entirely to New Mexico–grown grapes and world-class quality. After a decade of working seven days a week—balancing winemaking by day and restaurant work by night—his vision became reality with the opening of Sheehan Winery in December 2015.
Today, the winery is rooted in sustainability, community impact, and a deep belief in the potential of New Mexico wine. For Sean, Sheehan Winery is a reflection of persistence, place, and pride in where it all began.
Meet Alex
As Director of Vintage United, Alex Altomare brings together her work with New Mexico United and her passion for wine, community, and shared experience. Through her prior role with the club, Alex has helped build fan-centered partnerships and experiences rooted in connection, pride, and impact. Vintage United was created from that same Somos Unidos spirit. Using wine as a way to bring people together, celebrate community, and deepen the bond between fans, the club, and the moments that unite us.
New Mexico Grown
Sheehan Winery has vineyards in Corrales, Bosque Farms, and the South Valley of Albuquerque. The Corrales and Bosque Farms vineyards are well established and are the basis for our award-winning Lobo Vineyard Merlot and Chardonnay as well as our Elyce Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Chambourcin wines. Sheehan Winery also sources high quality grapes from small growers throughout the state. Our wines are made exclusively from New Mexico-grown grapes.
We are located in the Vecinos del Bosque neighborhood of Albuquerque, just 2 miles from historic Old Town.

VU donates sales from each bottle of wine to The Somos Unidos Foundation. The foundation is a 501(c)(3) dedicated to creating positive outcomes for New Mexicans through art, sport, community, and unity. We believe that New Mexico belongs at the top of the positive lists, and the bottom of the negative ones.
The successes of movements like New Mexico United and the Somos Unidos Foundation prove that our greatest resources are creativity and community. Our mission is to create positive outcomes for every New Mexican. We aim to do so through community collaborations, programs that unify our state, and by affording equal opportunities to every New Mexican.
